Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out how MKDU (General Basic Courses) lecturers at STAI Samora Pematangsiantar use powerpoint learning media for material delivery in semester one. This research was carried out at STAI Samora Pematangsiantar with the research subjects being first semester students and lecturers of MKDU courses such as Indonesian, Pancasila, Civic Education, and Introduction to Islamic Studies. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research, which uses a methodical approach to make observations, collect data, analyze data, and report results to describe a state or event. The validity of this study uses triangulation with data sources, both primary data sources and secondary data sources. The results showed the benefits of powerpoint learning media if designed and adjusted to the needs of first semester students at STAI Samora Pematangsiantar, then these results will facilitate the access of first semester students to the information they get and improve the quality of learning so as to affect their learning outcomes.There are differences in learning outcomes between first-semester students who use power point media and fifth-semester students with Educational Leadership courses, resulting in increased scores for MKDU courses in the first semester.
